Wayne Johnson Wayne Johnson was born on August 10, 1904, in
Kenton, Ohio. He worked at Goodyear and took part in Goodyear’s Little
Theater plays. He auditioned for announcing at WJW and was hired. He formed
a well-known trio of “Wayne, Lucile and Earl”. Wayne was the announcer
for the Great Lakes Exposition in 1935. He was the “Sohio News Reporter”
for five years. He won the Cleveland Press Best Announcer award for four
successive years. He and his wife now reside in Medina. |
