Ted Henry

      1964 was the year that Ted Henry first reported the news on a radio station in Canton, Ohio and he continued to work as a reporter at various Akron/Canton stations while he pursuedf his degree from Kent State University. Following graduation from Kent , he joined the Peace Corps and served in Paraguay , South America from October 1969 to 1971. Henry was the government reporter for WKBN TV and radio in Youngstown, Ohio after his return to the United States . In 1972, he joined the staff of WEWS He initially worked as a News Producer, then went on air as Weekend Anchor. Since 1975, Ted Henry has been the Weekday Anchor of “Eyewitness News” on Channel 5, Cleveland .
      Ted Henry has the distinction of being the first local news anchor to report live from Berlin when the wall was torn down. He covered the trial of John Demjanjuk and also traveled to Central and South America to cover the invasion of Grenada and various political uprisings.
      For many years, Henry has been active in many charities that specialize in helping underprivileged children and the homeless.
