Thomas G. Beck is well known at the University of Akron. From 1978 to the present he has been General Manager of WZIP-FM, Akron. He has been responsible for the operation of the public radio station including radio production services, staff training and supervisor, budget, programming and fund raising needs. Previously, Tom was a DJ early on trained at Ohio University, was with WOUB-TV in Athens, Ohio, and general manager WCLH-FM, in Pennsylvania. Tom has a Master of Arts Degree in radio and television management. He is presently an Assistant professor at the University of Akron. Tom has developed manuels for WZIP Operations, Media Usage for Non-profit Organizations, journalism quarterly publications, and several children's safety games. |
