Ralph E. Schneider

      Retired in 1987 after 32 years with WKYC-TV, Ralph Schneider's career goes back much further than than. He passed his FCC license test in 1948, after attending Cleveland's National Radio School and went almost immediately to WWVA as control engineer in 1948. a year later he was back in his hometown of Akron as control room engineer for WAKR, working with such talents as Alan Freed and Art Fleming. He continued as a control room engineer for WXEL-TV in Cleveland which later became WJW-TV. His long stint with WKYC-TV began in 1956 and included both audio and video, as he headed the crew that aiared shows from "Barnaby" to "The Mike Douglas Show", among many other Television highlights. He also was in charge of broadcasting Cleveland Orchesra concerts from Severance Hall, and set up many remotes for NBC sports and news.
