Robert "Bob" Myer A 30-minute church radio program produced, engineered, and announced by Bob Meyer in 1953 marked the beginning of an illustrious career that continues today. The next year, Meyer formed a corporation that began as WELW 1330 AM in Willoughby. Ten shareholders then started Radio Quests, Inc. In 1959-60, they purchased WPKO in Waverly, Ohio. Five years later, they received a construction permit for WAQI 1600 AM in Ashtabula. In
the late ‘60’s and early 70’s, the shareholders sold or turned over
the 3 stations and Meyer returned exclusively to WELW. He has worked as
Chief Engineer (a title he holds today), Station Manager, Program Director,
Music Director, Public Service and Traffic Manager. |
