Robert "Bob" Myer

A 30-minute church radio program produced, engineered, and announced by Bob Meyer in 1953 marked the beginning of an illustrious career that continues today. The next year, Meyer formed a corporation that began as WELW 1330 AM in Willoughby. Ten shareholders then started Radio Quests, Inc. In 1959-60, they purchased WPKO in Waverly, Ohio. Five years later, they received a construction permit for WAQI 1600 AM in Ashtabula.

In the late ‘60’s and early 70’s, the shareholders sold or turned over the 3 stations and Meyer returned exclusively to WELW. He has worked as Chief Engineer (a title he holds today), Station Manager, Program Director, Music Director, Public Service and Traffic Manager.

In May, 1989, Meyer received the Excellent Overall Quality in Broadcasting award for WELW from the Radio-Television Council of Greater Cleveland.
