Reverend Rex E. Humbard

Reverend Rex E. Humbard and The Humbard Family (parents Alph and Martha, brother and sisters) began broadcasting twice a day on radio station WSIX, Nashville, in 1943. Rex Humbard soon began a daily program on the Mutual Network. Approximately one year later, The Humbard Family Program became one of the first Gospel Radio programs to be carried by the NBC Radio Network. The program was also carried on the Canadian Network.

Although Reverend Humbard broadcast his first television program in 1949, it was in 1952 that he began the first nation-wide, weekly church service on television. These programs aired each week from 1952 until 1985. Many of his programs were broadcast worldwide.

Currently, Humbard is broadcasting his weekly Historic programs nationwide on various cable systems and independent television stations. He also serves as Pastor Emeritus at the Cathedral of Tomorrow, the church he founded and pastured for over 30 years.
