Phillip R. Herbert

      Now a resident of Rancho Mirage, California , Phil worked in the sales department of WHKK when it was owned by the United Broadcasting Company. In 1950, he purchased the station with Jackson Maurer and was President of the WHKK Broadcasting Company from 1950 to 1959. He was the organizer and manager of the Ohio Radio Network. While in Akron , he was a member of the Akron Advertising Club, the Akron City Club, and the Rosemont Country Club. He also was a member of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters and served on the Mayor’s Urban Development Committee.
