Plaugher *
Max came to
WHKK as news director in 1948. He had previously worked as an announcer at
WLOK,
Lima
and as a news reporter on the American Forces Network of the Armed Forces
Radio Service Station in
Frankfurt
,
Germany
. He helped cover the
Nuremberg
War Crimes Trial. He left WHKK in 1954 and went to work for a commercial and
industrial photo studio in
Akron
, writing and voicing sound tracks for industrial films. In 1958, Max
returned to radio in
Fort Wayne
,
Indiana
, on WKJG-TV and radio. He remained there until 1961, when he opened his own
commercial and industrial photography studio in
Medina
. From 1974 to 1979, he acted as a Mobile New Reporter from WWST,
Wooster
. Max described himself as “semi-retired” since he continued to do
free-lance writing and photography. Max died on September 7, 1996, at the
age of 71.
