Joel M. Rose *

      A native of Akron , Joel began his radio career at WHKK in 1957 as a newscaster. He continued as a newscaster at WCUE, where he became News Director and ultimately Program Director. He left the Akron scene in 1970 to go to KQV, Pittsburgh . Joel is best known for his duties on WEWS-TV, Cleveland, as a newscaster, producer, and talk show host. His weekly stints with Dorothy Fuldheim are fondly remembered as well as his appearances on the Morning Exchange. Joel acted as consultant for Group W Television. He was the guest speaker for the first Akron Radio Hall of Fame inductions in 1983.
