Joe Mayer *

      Joe Mayer – Radio Personality Plus! To say this man knows broadcasting in Northeast Ohio is an understatement. In addition to working at WAKR radio, WAKR TV and WCUE, he’s worked at WEOL, WDOK, WSRS, WGAR, KYW, WHK, WJW and WWWE. Starting in 1953, Joe Mayer’s career spanned an exciting time in the broadcast industry. He’s worked with such personalities as Liberace, Sammy Davis, Jr., the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Beverly Sills and Rosalynn Carter. Mr. Mayer has worked as a volunteer for many non-profit agencies and is still called “Mother” Mayer by many who knew him during his nine years as the Northeast Ohio Honorary Chairman for the Mothers March of Dimes. Currently residing in Fairview Park , Mr. Mayer recently retired - an action he has attempted several times!
