Jerry Healey

      Mention “Sam and Sarena” in Akron , and everyone knows you’re talking about Jerry Healey. Mr. Healey was associated with WAKR from 1967 through 1977 where he worked in many capacities, including his well known AM show with guest stars, Sam and Sarena. During his time in Akron , he served as President of the Akron Press Club and he and Dapper Dan did play-by-play and color for Ohio State football on WERE network and play-by-play for the Cavaliers on Channel 43. He was Program Director for WCUE in 1985 – 1986. He can currently be heard mornings in 65 cities as the morning man for TranStar Network’s AM only satellite network. Mr. Healey and his wife, Judy Healey, currently reside in LaCrescenta, California .
