Joe Finan

      In 1949, Joe Finan first signed on at WISR radio in Butler , Pennsylvania and forty years later – he hasn’t stopped talking.
      As a host at “The Talk of Akron ”, WNIR, Finan has led a varied and exciting career. In 1951, he was the first TV weatherman in Ohio . In 1953, he did the first format “Top Forty” show in Cleveland . He was Program Manager and part owner of KTLN in Denver. Finan returned to Cleveland in 1968 as the morning man on WIXY and established the Ohio School of Broadcasting. After selling his interest in the school, he was the Vice President and General Manager of KTLK-Welcome Radio in Denver . After ten years with WHK, he joined WNIR in 1984 and remained there until his retirement on December 22 of 2004.
