Glen Payne *

      Glen was with the Weatherford Quartet originally and they sang for Rex Humbard at the Cathedral of Tomorrow. When the Weatherford Quartet left, Glen stayed and organized the Cathedral Quartet and has been the lead singer and manager until the present time. The quartet sings at concerts, churches, revivals and takes two cruises each year. The Quartet was the first to record in the Holy Land . They’ve also recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and sang at the Radio City Music Hall . They were the first gospel quartet to record with a string music background. During his 60 years in gospel music, his group won numerous awards and was nominated for 11 Grammys. In November of 1989 they celebrate their 25th year. Glen Payne passed away October 15, 1999 at age 72.
