George Mamas

      George started in radio at WHKK as its Promotion Director in 1948. In 1949, he went into the sales department where he remained until 1954. This was the year when he began his long association with WCUE. He started as a salesman, but became Sales Manager in 1958 and in 1960 was named Vice-President and General Sales Manager. In 1962 he bought the station and became President and General Manager. He remained there until he sold the station in 1981 and retired. He was on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters and has served as Vice-Chairman of the Akron Radio Hall of Fame since its beginning.
