(Phillip J. Keller) Gene Fedorchak has presented polka music to Youngstown radio listeners for over 40 years. In the 1950’s, he also performed music and comedy skits weekly on WKBN-Channel 27. For the past 8-½ years, Youngstown ’s favorite Polka Host has produced and hosted the WKBN Polka Party. Arbitron ratings have determined that this show has consistently ranked #1 or #2 in its target market. Guests on this program have included such notables as U. S. Representative James Traficant, Senator Howard Metzenbaum, Governor George Voinovich and Musician Frankie Yankovic. Fedorchak has frequently used his talents to assist worthy causes such as the Children’s Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy and The Mammogram Mobile Unit. |
