Elder A. "Budd" Fisher

      Elder Fisher was born in 1922. He was on the police beat for the Akron Beacon Journal in 1949 and 1950.
      Budd gained his early radio reporting experience working with Alan Freed and Pete Hackes on WAKR. In 1956, he replaced “Red” Hageman as newscaster for WADC. Later, Budd accepted the position as Head of the News Department at WHKK and remained there until 1960.
      He founded the National Industrial Basketball League, did promotional work for the Cleveland Browns and was publicity director for the Ohio State-Indiana Hockey League.
      Before becoming affiliated with Eddie Elias Enterprises and the Professional Bowlers Association, Fisher gained wide acclaim in sports promotion, public relations, promotion with auto racing, thrill shows and thoroughbred racetracks.
