Eddie started as an interviewer on WAKR’s Rubber City Sports Show in 1953. Bob Wiley read the scores and news and Eddie interviewed national and local sports celebrities. Between 1954 and 1959, he hosted a daily sports, weather and talk show on WAKR TV. He served as a summer replacement for Paige Palmer on WEWS, Cleveland in 1958. He produced many shows including “The Hop” featuring Scott Muni and a Ballroom Dancing Show starring Charlie Greer. In 1959, he appeared on Akron Tonight, which was produced by the late Doc Williams and Bill Stalker. Eddie left television and radio in 1959 to devote his time to national network sports and prime time packages. He died on November 15, 1998. |
