"BOB ALLEN" GORDON VAN WAES
Like his long-time sidekick, "Adam Jones," Gordon Van Waes has had an excellent solo career in radio. Born in Kewanee, Illinois, the Moline station, WQUA, was a solid beginning. He also served as program director there. In those first ten years, he rarely saw the talent who was to become his eventual "partner in comedy", but in 1976, a mangement request hooked him up with "Adam Jones" and fun began for listeners when they moved to WAKR in Akron in 1978. The duo became a reliable part of morning radio for some ten warm-hearted and humorous years. Gordon has also been very active in sports broadcasting and enjoys working as a play-by-play announcer and continuing as part of the program management team at the station.
