FRANK WALTON

      Frank Walton is the host of the self produced “Music OnA SundayAllemoon”onKRIZ-1420; KZIZ-1560, KYIZ-1620 Kris Bennett Broadcasting Radio stations. He provides a unique role in his connection with listeners of all ages and is comfortable in sharing most genres of gospel music. The radio broadcast program is designed to provide encouragement and inspirational music to the Seattle & Tacoma, surrounding areas with the latest in traditional, contemporary and urban gospel music.
      As a young child growing up in Chicago, he would rise early on Sunday mornings to accompany his dad, the late Robert B. Walton, to the radio station where the Walton Brothers would sing live over radio station WHFC currently known as WVON. He had an opportunity to travel and eventually relocated to Minneapolis. This is where a visually impaired Joe Sorenson officially acquainted him with the board at KMOJ radio. His radio debut for Seattle included filling in for someone on vacation during the summer of 1993 at KRIZ/KZIZ radio. He was offered the Sunday afternoon slot where he remains today. Frank is the founding president of the Seattle Area Gospel Announcers Guild including membership categories for radio announcers, retailers and record labels covering British1 Columbia, Washington, Oregon and Idaho. In addition to his professional involvement, He is active in church, professional associations and community affairs. Frank is involved with the Gospel Music Channel and a member of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards Academy.
      Recent awards include the 2006 Aunt Pauline Wells Award and 2005’ Deacon Willie McKinstzy Award from the Gospel Music Workshop of America - National Gospel Announcers; 2005 People’s Gathering Media Award; Apostolic Clergy Advisory Council 2004 Good Shepherd Award; MLK Church Man of the Century Award and other acknowledgements for his effective leadership in the community.
